In today’s show: December 21st – the winter solstice – will mark National Robin Day, and Sue Morgan, CEO of the charity SongBird Survival talks about robins, why they’re special and what we can do to help them in the winter months • Beekeeper Ian Condon brings us up to date on the progress of the splendid new bee centre being built by the North Dorset Beekeepers Association outside Shillingstone. What will be there and who will it be for • The Dorset Wildlife Trust is looking for new volunteers for their centres at Kingcombe, Kimmeridge and on the causeway at Chesil Beach. Sarah Hodgson, Centre Officer for the Wild Chesil Beach Centre talks about the centres and what volunteers would do • And entomologist Dr. Christopher Terrell Nield sheds light on some of the strange creatures to be found living in the darkness of caves.
