Woman assaulted in Asda car park – appeal for witnesses

Police officers investigating an assault in a supermarket car park in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident occurred at around 7.20pm on Tuesday 19 May 2026 in the car park of Asda in Newstead Road.

The victim – a local woman aged in her 30s – was assaulted by two men. During the incident, she sustained bleeding and bruising to her face.

Police Constable Tom Powell, of Weymouth police, said: “I know there would have been a number of people in the area at the time and I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.

“Also, as this occurred in the car park there may be a number of motorists who captured relevant dashcam footage and I would ask them to please get in touch.”
