In the early hours of Sunday 31st May, Dorset Fire & Rescue Service from Dorchester Station were called to a large fire which has damaged the Riverside Reserve, a nature reserve near the River Frome at Dorchester.
The fire has affected the composite decking walkway through the reserve.
Due to the distance from a road, the crew ran out 120 meters of hosereel which was then connected to approximately 120 meters of main line fire hose to extinguish the fire.
The Fire Service ask the public not to go into the reserve at this time since the walkway has been severely damaged.
