Two people have been arrested following drugs warrants executed by officers in the Dorchester area.

Local officers secured the warrants under section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and attended the properties in Puddletown and Poundbury on the morning of Tuesday 7 September 2021.

A large quantity of suspected cannabis was reportedly located at the address in Puddletown and a quantity of suspected cocaine was allegedly found at the address in Poundbury.

A man aged in his 30s and a woman aged in her 50s have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply. The man has also been arrested on suspicion of possessing a class B drug with intent to supply. Both have been released under investigation as officers carry out further enquiries.

Police Constable Jake Cannings, of Dorchester police, said: “We are committed to disrupting the suspected dealing of illegal drugs in our communities and will take proactive action to disrupt the efforts of those reportedly involved in the supply chain.

“We are assisted in these efforts by our local communities reporting any suspected drug-related activity in their areas to us and we would continue to urge anyone with information to come forward. Visit www.dorset.police.uk, email us via 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or call us on 101.”Dorset Police logo
