Pedestrian receives serious injuries following road traffic collision in Chickerell

Police officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a serious injury road traffic collision in Weymouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 11.30am on Monday 10 February 2025 of a road traffic collision involving a Ford Kuga and a pedestrian on East Street in Chickerell.

Officers attended alongside the ambulance service and the pedestrian, a man aged in his 80s, was taken to hospital with injuries reported to be serious but not life threatening.

Police Constable Georgia Hedditch, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision to establish the full circumstances and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us. I understand a bus was passing by at the time so there may have been passengers onboard who saw what happened.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area or captured relevant dashcam footage that may assist with our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email at scit@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250019765.
