At 1351 today Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Control received a call to a boiler fire at Ansty Village Hall.
Fire engines from Sturminster Newton, Blandford and Dorchester attended, with more assistance on the way from Yeovil incase an aerial appliance was required – but the Yeovil appliances were subsequently turned back prior to their arrival.
The fire in the boiler cupboard was believed to be involving electrical cables, and was extinguished by 2 firefighters in breathing apparatus, using 1 hose reel and a CO2 extinguisher.
A positive pressure ventilation fan was also used to ventilate the building.
The incident was all under control by 3pm
