Suspected stolen bikes recovered

Officers are issuing images of three suspected stolen bikes that were recovered in Weymouth and appealing for the owners to come forward.

On Friday 21 June 2019 a 40-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a bicycle in the area of Ranelagh Road and a dark grey and silver Raleigh Velo bike with green markings was recovered.

Following searches of an address, a red Claud Butler Alpina 2.5 bike and a black Carrerra Crossfire ladies bicycle were also recovered.

The arrested man has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Police Sergeant Rich Barnett, of Weymouth police, said: “I would urge anyone who recognises these bicycles or who has any information about the reported thefts of bikes in the Weymouth area to please contact us.”
