Image appeal following road rage incident in Weymouth
Officers investigating a road rage incident in Weymouth are issuing images of the suspect and his motorcycle.
The incident occurred at around 12pm on Tuesday 24 September 2019 at the traffic lights between Chickerell Road and Boot Hill.
A man aged in his 60s was driving a Vauxhall Zafira and had pulled out from a stationary position in Chickerell Road. As he stopped at the traffic lights, he became aware of a man on a motorcycle, who pulled up alongside him and began shouting at him.
The motorcyclist attempted to grab the keys from the ignition of the victim’s car, which caused part of the key to fall out onto the road.
The victim got out of his vehicle to get it, at which point the motorcyclist pushed him, causing him to fall onto his right knee.
The motorcyclist then pushed the victim again before getting back on his bike and riding off in the direction of Boot Hill.
The victim sustained bruising and possible ligament damage to his knee as a result of the incident.
Police Constable Tharme, of Weymouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and have obtained dashcam footage from a passing motorist.
“I would urge anyone who recognises the man pictured or his vehicle to please contact us.”
