Burglary in Melplash – appeal for information

Officers investigating a burglary at a home in a West Dorset village are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Between around 11am and 3.30pm on Friday 4 December 2020 entry was gained to a property in Beaminster Road in Melplash. The offender carried out a search of the premises and stole a laptop.

Police Constable Michelle Day, of West Dorset police, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this burglary and I would ask anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity to please contact us.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the Melplash area during the relevant timeframe and has dascham fitted to please check their footage for anything relevant.

“Local officers will be increasing patrols in the area and can be approached by members of the community with any information or concerns.”
