Dorset Speaker Wins Through to World Championships

Ben Sloyan, a 32 year old Speaker from Poole, who is a member of the Dorchester based Casterbridge Speakers Club, won the International Speech final and now goes through to the World Championships in the USA.

Competing against other UK Speakers, Ben was voted the best with his emotive speech on loneliness. “Words fail me to express my gratitude for the support I’ve received from the Club in helping me hone my skills. ‘I couldn’t have done it without you’ isn’t just a platitude, but a reality,” said Ben.

As an attempt to give something back to his fellow Club members Ben Sloyan will be giving an educational speech at Casterbridge to share what he is learnt on his journey to date. Guests are welcome to come along and hear this talented young man.

If you would like to learn what makes a winning speech and how to improve your confidence and public speaking skills; come along to Casterbridge Speakers’ Virtual meeting on May 12th at 7.15pm. It is free and on-line. Contact Neil Richings at nrichings@gmail.com for details.
