KeeP 106 has been told about a potential hazard for swimmers in the River Frome near Grey’s Bridge in Dorchester at a location known as ‘Swimmos’.
Janet Hewitt and Sharon Morgan said “Someone has tipped a shopping trolley into the water right where the kids jump in and it is not easily seen. Fortunately I don’t jump in, but did hit my leg just now when swimming. It’s in deep water and I couldn’t shift it on my own so just wanted to make them aware until we can get it removed.”
Many youngsters frequent the area in the summer and it is possible that injury could be caused to the unsuspecting swimmer, therefore caution is advised before entering the water at Swimmos.
