Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a road traffic collision near Dorchester.
Dorset Police was called at around 4.05pm on Monday 9 August 2021 to a report of a collision involving a black BMW 1 Series and a blue Kia Niro on the B3159 between Monkton Park and Martinstown, near to the cricket club.
It is reported that the driver of the BMW – a man aged in his 20s from Yeovil – was located nearby requiring medical assistance. He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
The driver of the Kia was uninjured.
Road closures were put in place to allow emergency services to deal with the incident. They were lifted at around 5.40pm.
Police Constable Stuart Smith, of Dorchester police, told KeeP 106: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened or saw the manner of driving of either of the vehicles prior to the collision to please come forward.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam to assist my enquiries.
“I am particularly keen to hear from two members of the public who were travelling in a car and stopped at the scene, but left before officers arrived as they may have relevant information to assist me.
“I also understand there was a cyclist in the vicinity at the time of the collision and I would ask them people to please come forward as they have important information to help my investigation.”
