Only call 999 in a genuine, life-threatening emergency.
The South Western Ambulance Service is currently experiencing a high demand on the 999 emergency services across the South West area.
This week the service declared a major incident due to demand, but have today have stood down from this major incident status.
So they can continue to help those with the most serious conditions, they urge people to not call them for non-life-threatening emergencies. Alternative services, including 111 are available by phone or online.
If you need an emergency ambulance because you are seriously injured or unwell, and you believe your life is at risk, please call 999.
