Dorchester Ladies FC Welcomed Return

Dorchester Ladies FC return to the Dorset Women’s League for the 2021/22 season following a short break in the team’s proud history.

With ambitions to create a new successful ladies team for the county town, the players and Manager Graham Stoker are also keen to provide a pathway to adult football for the many girls already playing in Dorchester, and are delighted to be working closely with Dorchester Town Youth FC.

After launching open training sessions in the summer, numbers grew quickly and players old and new joined the team, forming a strong bond both on and off the pitch in the lead up to the new season.

Since reforming, the team have been delighted to have received the support of lead sponsors Sprint Printing Dorchester, and kit sponsorship from Qwikfast Clothing and Embroidery. Tom Brown’s Pub and Hamza’s Syrian & Middle Eastern Cuisine have also supported the team’s training and match costs. Any business interested in sponsoring training jackets for the team should email dorchladies_fc@hotmail.co.uk

Following victories in pre-season friendlies, Dorchester Ladies FC began their 21/22 league campaign with a 4-0 defeat to Redlands Ladies at home, followed by a strong performance and 11-1 win away to Gillingham Town Ladies and a hard fought 3-2 victory against last year’s league runners-up Weymouth FC Ladies.

The Magpies were due to play their next league fixture away to Poole Town Ladies Reserves the 3rd October but sadly Dorset Football League suspended all fixtures for the next two weekends due to the current fuel situation. A review is due on 12th October.
