Reported knife incident in Weymouth

Officers investigating an incident involving men reportedly in possession of a knife at a nightclub in Weymouth are appealing for information.

At around 2.40am on Monday 1 November 2021 Dorset Police received a report that three men were in possession of a knife at Actors nightclub in Maiden Street. It was further reported that a knife had been seized by security staff at the premises following a disturbance outside.

Following enquiries, two local men – aged 20 and 31 – were arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing a bladed article. They have been released on police bail as officers carry out further enquiries.

Police Constable Susan Tagg, of Dorset Police’s Volume Crime Team, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am appealing to any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who has captured any relevant dashcam, home CCTV or mobile phone footage relating to the incident.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210176095.
