COVID-19 cases have risen sharply across the SW region and we are seeing this in both Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council areas and Dorset Council areas. Hospitalisations have remained fairly stable but Public Health Dorset continue to monitor the trend as there can be a delay between rising cases and the impact on hospitalisations. Staying safe over New Years
Over the New Year weekend, it’s important that you help to keep yourself and others safe.
If you’re meeting up with friends and family, make sure you do a lateral flow test before you meet up. When meeting others indoors, it’s important that you let fresh air in by opening windows and doors, to help stop the spread of COVID. If you’re using public transport or visiting an indoor venue, make sure you wear a face covering.
It’s not too late to get your COVID vaccine
If you have not had your first or second dose of the COVID vaccine, you can still come forward at any time to have your vaccine.
You can book your COVID vaccine either online, or you can visit a COVID vaccination centre near you.
If you have booked your COVID vaccine for January, you can visit a walk in centre and have your vaccine sooner.
There are a number of vaccination sites across Dorset, opening days and times may vary. No appointment is needed to attend a walk in vaccination centre.
