Officers investigating an incident where a teenage boy was reportedly bitten by a dog in Weymouth have identified the owner of the animal involved.
It was reported that at around 8.30am on Monday 31 January 2022 the victim – a teenage boy – was walking through a tunnel at the end of Carisbrooke and when he reached the grass area, he saw a man walking a black and white Springer-type dog that was off of the lead.
The dog reportedly bit the victim on his thumb on his right hand, causing him to draw blood. He attended hospital for treatment.
Following a media appeal and enquiries, the owner of the dog involved has now been identified and is assisting officers with their investigation.
We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal.
