Appeal for information following road traffic collision near Dorchester

Officers continuing to investigate a road traffic collision near Dorchester are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report shortly after 6am on Sunday 20 March 2022 that a black Renault Clio that was believed to have been involved in a single vehicle collision had been found unoccupied partially blocking the carriageway at the Troytown slip road off the A35 near Puddletown.

Officers attended and a 38-year-old man from Trowbridge near Wiltshire was located near to the scene and arrested on suspicion of a driving offence. He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

There were no reports of any serious injuries.

Police Constable Maddie Barber, of Dorchester police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or the manner of driving of the vehicle involved prior to it.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area around the relevant time who has dashcam fitted to please check their footage for anything relevant.”
