Weekend Sports Report

Weymouth football club progress into Monday’s first round proper FA Cup draw following their 2 goals to 1 victory at Westleigh Park against hosts Havant & Waterlooville.

The Terras probably produced their best performance since the appointment of new manager Bobby Wilkinson. Ahkeem Rose snatched victory for Weymouth with a goal in the 91st minute of the game doubling Teddy Howe’s earlier effort to deny the Hawkes the possibility of a big pay day.

Dorchester’s football club’s third loss in succession came at the Avenue Stadium against visitors Hayes & Yeading, the Magpies only consolation score came from Olaf Koszela late in the second half of the game.

Portland United travelled into Hampshire to play Brockenhurst for a Wessex League fixture, however they had no success and returned to Dorset on the end of a 4 goals to nil defeat.

On Sunday the Terras women’s team travelled into the Somerset Levels to play Middlezoy women and went down by 3 goals to 2 their scores coming from Namoi Johnson and Charlie Wilson.

In the rugby Weymouth & Portland put Puddletown to the sword in a Tribute Dorset & Wilts division 1 south match running out 76 points to nil winners at Greenfields. In the same division Bridport visited East Dorset Dockers, but went down by 29 points to 15 against the Bournemouth based club.

In Tribute Southern Counties south Swanage & Wareham hosted neighbours Dorchester with the visitors to Bestwall Park winning the game by 32 points to 19. In the same league Trowbridge beat Blandford by 39 points to 37 in Wiltshire.
