Update in relation to road traffic collision in Weymouth

A woman injured in a road traffic collision in Weymouth has very sadly died.

The single-vehicle collision occurred at around 3.15pm on Tuesday 25 October 2022 on Chickerell Road. It was reported that the car, an orange Peugeot, ended up on its roof.

The driver, a woman aged in her 70s, was taken to hospital by the ambulance service and sadly died on Friday 28 October 2022. Her family has been informed and the coroner has been notified.

Police Constable Tracy Downer, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the woman who died at this extremely difficult time for them.

“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to please contact us.”
