A Life & Soul Community Trust to be launched by the Lugger Inn

As part of King Charles III Coronation celebrations, The Lugger Inn Chickerell have decided to join THE BIG HELP OUT initiative on 8th May, by launching their Life & Soul Community Trust.  The intention of the Trust is to provide support to those within the local community, whether monetary or otherwise, to bring happiness to others, promote wellbeing and nurture a strong community spirit – The Lugger Inn, The Life & Soul of Chickerell.

King Charles III has chosen to use his coronation weekend as an opportunity to highlight volunteering and the important part it plays in our community.  Everyone across the country has been asked to “roll up their sleeves” and lend a hand and the Lugger inn is taking this unique opportunity to launch their new community trust.

Liam Coles, owner of the Lugger Inn said “We are excited to launch our new community trust.  In 2022 we were proud to win the Pub of the Year competition with the Dorset Echo and we really wanted to give something back to our patrons. The wellbeing of our customers, family and friends is very important to us and we wanted to formally set out our intentions to the community.   Following our new King’s lead, we want everyone to feel included, happy, and cared for in our community and that is why we are launching the trust during the Coronation celebrations on Monday 8th May as part of THE BIG HELP OUT initiative.  We are now looking for volunteers to help with the community trust and to make a difference to our local community. Volunteers can maybe share a cup of tea, do a bit of shopping, or simply have a chat with their fellow neighbours.”

The Community Trust launch event will be held on Saturday 27th May when the group will be hosting a “Day at the Races” where local businesses will be able to sponsor horses and races and customers will be able to dress up for a day at the races and place bets on favourite horses. All proceeds will go towards the Trust.
