Appeal for information following report of robbery in Weymouth

Officers investigating a report of a robbery on Weymouth seafront are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report from a third party that some time between 5pm on Friday 26 May 2023 and 7am on Saturday 27 May 2023 a man was assaulted near to the Jubilee Clock Tower on The Esplanade, and items were stolen from him.

The victim is understood to have sustained an injury to his head but is not believed to have required hospital treatment.

Police Constable Bryce Scott-Jones, of Weymouth police, said: “We are conducting enquiries into this incident, and I am keen to speak to anyone who might have seen what happened.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please review their footage to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”
