Shortly after 2.30 am this morning (Friday 9th May) fire crews from Dorchester and Weymouth Fire Station responded to reports of a garage fire in Mountain Ash Road, Dorchester.
Whilst fire crews were responding, it was understood that the fire was starting to spread to affect more properties.
Once on scene crews were met with a well-developed fire and requested two further appliances. Support arrived, which came from Bere Regis and Maiden Newton Fire Stations.
In addition, an aerial ladder from Yeovil Fire Station was also requested as the fire was starting to spread into the roof of the house.
Crews used four breathing apparatus wearers to extinguish the fire using mainlines and hose reel jets.
The fire has come shortly after Dorchester fire station issued a plea for residents in the county to consider how they park their vehicles, to ensure fire engines can safely and promptly reach properties.
