Public appeal as man found with injuries in Weymouth

Police officers are investigating the circumstances of an incident in which a man sustained injuries in Weymouth and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

At 12.27am on Saturday 29 July 2023 Dorset Police received a report from the ambulance service that a 48-year-old man from the Milton Keynes area had been found with serious head injuries in the Pavilion car park and was taken to hospital.

Detective Constable Donna Taylor, of Weymouth CID, said: “We are conducting enquiries in an effort to establish how the man came to sustain his injuries. At this time the most likely cause would have been an assault.

“I am hoping that somebody might have witnessed the incident and can help us with our investigation.

“The likely timeframe would be between 11pm on Friday 28 July 2023 and 12.30am on Saturday 29 July 2023.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230118679. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
