Amended: Power tools amongst items stolen in burglary on Portland

Dorset Police have amended the following item to clarify that the building site was not at the Pennsylvania Castle site itself, as previously stated.

Officers investigating a burglary at a building site on Portland are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Between 2am and 4.30am on Wednesday 26 July 2023 a break-in occurred at a building site in the area of Pennsylvania Road and a number of Dewalt power tools were stolen as well as copper fittings.

The stolen tools included an impact driver, a drill driver, an SDS drill, a skill saw and a grinder.

Police Constable Carley O’Rourke, of Dorset Police, said: “We are conducting enquiries into this burglary and I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area during the early hours of Wednesday 26 July 2023 to please contact us.

“I would also urge anyone who comes across items matching the descriptions of those stolen being offered for sale in suspicious circumstances to please report it to police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230116672. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
