Churches Return to Dorset County Show

Volunteers and clergy from across the county town and surrounding villages will be looking after the Churches Together in Dorchester marquee at next month’s Dorset County Show.

The marquee, which is at Avenue 7, will be hosting the baby changing and feeding facilities, Godly Play storytelling for all ages, hands-on eco display, craft activities, games, a rural information stand and refreshments.

The Bishop of Sherborne, the Rev Karen Gorham, and Salvation Army Major Anne Read are leading a traditional Harvest Festival Service on Sunday at 11am at the sheep shearing stand (behind our marquee). There will be a retiring collection for Dorchester Foodbank.

Peter Jenner, children and family’s worker for the Dorset South and West Methodist Circuit, said everyone was welcome: “We’ve got a really exciting range of activities for all of the family, so do head down to the marquee – you’ll be really welcome.”
