Not one of our local senior football teams could provide their supporters with a victory this weekend.
Weymouth travelled to Havant & Waterlooville for National League South fixture and led at the break one nil courtesy of an own goal from one of the Hawke’s defenders who guided the ball past his own goalkeeper into the back of the net, but after the break the Terras conceded and had to share the points with the final score one goal apiece.
In the Southern Premier League Dorchester shared the points with visitors to the Avenue Stadium Hayes & Yeading, also with a scoreline of one each, but it could have been so different if striker Shaq Gewngwe had converted a second half penalty.
The Magpies’ only goal coming from Will Spetch who late in the second half was sent off for picking up two yellow cards.

Shaquille Gwengwe missed a penalty kick
Portland United’s winning Wessex League run came to an abrupt end at Grove corner where they lost out by three goals to nil against Moneyfields.
Bridport’s scheduled Southwest Peninsular League game at St. Mary’s against Sidmouth was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
On Sunday the Terras Women’s team travelled to Bristol to play Stockwood Wanderers and drew one one. Weymouth’s goal coming off a Lucy Roberts cross that was deflected by a Wanderer’s defender into her own goal.
There were no Tribute League rugby matches this weekend.
Some player movements to report.
Dorchester football club have parted company with Benjani Jr and Alex Moyes and Weymouth have loaned out Harvey Slade to Poole Town.
It was an ill wind over the weekend, but paradise for the local windsurfers who made best use of the conditions in the water off of Preston Beach – to see photos of the windsurfers follow this link: idrismartin.wordpress.com/2023/10/29/keep-radio-106-3-fm-weekend-sports-report-3/
