Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! There is a vacancy for Town Crier in Dorchester

After 27 wonderful years, Alistair Chisholm delivered his final cry as Town Crier in Dorchester at the New Year’s celebrations at the Town Pump. Alistair, who is also the current Mayor of the county town, has won the national town crier competition a record-equalling eleven times and has been runner up in the world championships. Whilst he will continue to champion local issues, such as opposition to the proposed housing development north of Dorchester, Alistair will be standing down as a local councillor at the end of his term of office. He visited our studios on New Year’s Day and summed up his time as town crier whilst looking ahead to the future…
