Pedestrian in her 70s flown to hospital with serious injuries following collision in Wyke Regis

Dorset Police received a report at 1.57pm on Thursday 6 June 2024 of a collision in High Street, Wyke Regis, Weymouth involving a blue Skoda Octavia that had collided with two parked vehicles and a pedestrian.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward as they investigate the serious injury collision.

Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place as they responded to the incident.

The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 70s, was taken by air ambulance to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. Her family has been informed.

The driver of the Skoda, a woman aged in her 60s, was treated for minor injuries.

Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are conducting enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.

“I would also urge anyone with dashcam who was driving in the vicinity around the time of the collision to please check their footage for anything of relevance.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
