Arrest made in connection with reported assault in Weymouth

A man has been arrested in connection with a reported assault in Weymouth town centre.

Officers are continuing to investigate an incident that was reported to have occurred at around 12.50am on Sunday 29 September 2024 near to the junction of Caroline Place and Westham Road.

It was reported that a man aged in his 30s was assaulted and sustained serious facial injuries.

Following enquiries, a 27-year-old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. He remains in police custody at this time.
