Countryside Matters 30.09.24

This programme discusses solar farms, the benefits and the environmental impact to the local community where such a farm may be located. Jenny Devitt attended a public meeting in Bradford Abbas and spoke to local residents about their concerns, and to the company who wishes to create a solar farm in north Dorset. Jenny also speaks to one person who has run a successful solar farm near Poole for many years. Also in the programme, Penny Southgate of Bristol’s community radio station BCfm talks about Our Earth Week, which she started last year to tie in with the COP talks and which she hopes community stations nationally will sign up to • Finally, Mike Burks, Managing Director of the Gardens Group has suggestions for spring bulbs we might be tempted to plant in our gardens for next year.
