Countryside Matters 03.02.25

Today we hear about research into the effect pet treatments, such as flea chemicals, can have on certain birds. On the same subject a vet explains why using tablets instead of spot-on flea treatments can reduce the risk of pollution to watercourses and birds. On a more cheerful note there’s two items on squirrels – a university professor has found that what they eat can change the shape of their skulls and we talk to a Brownsea Island Ranger about the island’s population of squirrels and how they’ve been known to swim.
