The Creech Barrow Seven were a group of men from the Purbeck area of Dorset who were volunteer members of a highly secret auxiliary unit trained to be saboteurs and resistance fighters in the event of a German invasion during World War 2. The role of these men was kept a secret even from the family, friends and colleagues of the those involved. A resident of Purbeck, John Wareham, became interested in the history of the Creech Barrow Seven – Creech Barrow being a prominent hill south of Wareham town – and he visited our studios to explain more to Andy Senior about this fascinating subject…
