Witness appeal following alleged assault in Weymouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following an alleged assault in Weymouth.

It is reported that at around 8.30am on Friday 16 May 2025, a woman aged in her 30s was assaulted in Glendinning Avenue by a man who is known to her.

It is also reported that another man was threatened with a stick, but did not sustain any injuries.

A 45-year-old man from Weymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault and affray and has been released on police bail while the investigation continues.

Police Sergeant Joseph Garrard, of Dorset Police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to please come forward.

“Also, I would ask anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on either CCTV or dashcam footage to please get in touch.”
