Dorchester elects a new Mayor

At the Annual Meeting of Dorchester Town Council on Monday 19th May, Councillor Andy Canning was elected Mayor of Dorchester. At the ceremony, Andy told the audience “I moved here in 1998 with my wife, Mel and our child, Alex, who was only 1 at the time. We loved Dorchester from the first moment we saw it and it has more than exceeded any of our hopes for a new life here.” Our reporter Andy Worth attended the ceremony and here is a recording of the proceedings followed by short interviews with the outgoing Mayor, Robin Potter, the new Mayoress Mel Lane and finally Andy Canning our new Mayor…
