A local church is again offering free money coaching to help people manage their finances.
CAP money coach Dick Howard says, “These are difficult times for many households. Inflation jumped to its highest level in more than a year in April and one charity reckons that recent government spending cuts will push 250,000 people into poverty across the UK”. The figure quoted is sourced from the Office for National Statistics and the Resolution Foundation.
Dick and fellow CAP coaches will run a three-hour course on Saturday 21st June starting at 9.30am at the Dorford Centre. Course participants will learn how to put a budget together, with tips on how to make your money go further and how to be disciplined about spending.
As Dick explains, “The courses are proven and effective. And they are independent – no one is trying to sell you any financial products. Best bit? It’s totally free.”
Dorchester Poverty Action and Dorchester Foodbank are generously sponsoring these courses with a £20 Co-op voucher for participants who live in DT1/DT2 postcodes**. The courses are run by Dorchester Baptist Church using material created by Christians Against Poverty.
