Family tribute following fatal collision in Dorchester

A family tribute has been issued for a man who very sadly died in a fatal road traffic collision in Dorchester.

Dorset Police received a report at 7.35am on Friday 16 May 2025 of a collision in Bridport Road involving a white Fiat Panda and a bicycle.

Emergency services attended and the cyclist – 50-year-old Justin Loveland who was a teacher – was taken to Southampton Hospital where he sadly died on the evening of Saturday 17 May 2025.

His family has issued the following tribute: “Justin was a much-loved son, brother, uncle and teacher.

“The expressions of sadness and love for Justin from the school, cycling community and many friends from Dorchester and all across the country have been over-whelming.

“We will miss him hugely.”
