Edd has written a book to be published by Bloomsbury with a foreword by Dr Jane Goodall, DBE, Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and UN Messenger of Peace entitled, “100 Ideas for Primary Teachers: Greener School”. It is the ultimate guide to making sustainability a vibrant, everyday part of school life. These 100 ideas have all been tried and tested by Edd in his teaching over the last 13 years. The book is aimed at teachers, trainees, Multi Academy Trusts, Schools, Universities but can be adapted and used by Youth Groups, Scouts, Guides or families at home.

It aligns with the DfE Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy, the Eco-Schools’ top ten topics, and the Let’s Go Zero objectives. The book is packed with creative, low-cost ideas that slot easily into the curriculum and school all year round. From litter-busting and protecting marine life, to boosting biodiversity, saving energy, greening school grounds, and rethinking transport – these activities show pupils that small changes really can make a big difference. Plus, schools can discover how to cut waste, save money, and even earn extra funding.

Edd says, “I hope my book will help inspire teachers across their schools to empower their pupils to take action in school and across their communities to reduce their carbon footprint and also help protect our planet.”

Edd is holding a book launch at Jubilee Hall, Great Cranford Street, Poundbury, DT1 3BW, sponsored by Parkers Property on Thursday 11th September, 6pm – 8pm with people able to arrive from 5.30pm. The evening will be hosted by Alex Bell, Founder of Yes Fest https://yes-fest.com/  which is a fun festival atmosphere for children building regenerative skills and habits for life. There will be an introduction short film by Dr Jane Goodall DBE. Edd will speak about his book sharing examples, and will talk about what life was like teaching in the jungle in Bali. You will hear from Jen Gale, Let’s Go Zero Climate Action Advisor and the work she is doing to support schools in the Southwest, past pupils Edd taught, and the impact Climate Education has had on them. Weldmar Hospice Care Charity Outlet have loaned two sofas keeping in with the eco theme. Teasel and Skylark Bookshop in Dorchester will be selling Edd’s book as well as other environmental books on the night. Please bring your own chair, cushion, blanket to sit on so that you can be part of the theme of reduce, reuse, recycle.
