Three of our local Non-League Football teams were involved in the First Preliminary Round of the FA Cup with varying results. One win One Draw and a loss.
Dorchester travelled to Slimbridge to play the Swans and returned to the Avenue Stadium following a one goal to nil victory courtesy of a Tom Smith strike.
Meanwhile Poole Town managed to force a home replay on Tuesday evening after drawing a goal each away at Didcot Town.
However, the result of the day came at Tadley Cavella where Weymouth went down by four goals to two against the Romans who compete in the Combined Counties Premier League step nine of the football league pyramid two below Weymouth who play in step seven.
Weymouth’s two goals came from Tom Bearwish and Tom Hewlett.

Tom Bearwish scored the Terras’ opening goal.
The Terra’s performance against Tadley only went to highlight the task that new manager Steve Claridge has undertaken at Weymouth following his two years sabbatical from the game.
Back to Southwest Premier League East action for Bridport who beat visitors Middlezoy Rovers by four goals to two at St. Mary’s, the Bees’ striker Sam Fisher scored twice with Solomon Ayunga and Harley Brook both netting a goal each.
The weather decimated the Dorset League Cricket competition with most matches cancelled, which means that Dorchester can now celebrate their Premier League Championship along with neighbours Weymouth who wrapped up the County Division One Championship last weekend.
