Weekend Sports Preview

There two big local football matches in the Southern Premier League on Saturday, 18th placed Weymouth play hosts to second placed Gloucester City at the Bob Lucas Stadium while at the Avenue Stadium basement club Dorchester entertain the side 3 places above them Yate Town.

The Terras will have new boy Max Davies who was signed on loan from Bristol City in mid-week in their squad.

Weymouth manager Steve Claridge has appealed to the Terras’ faithful to turn up and support the team who have three home matches at the Bob Lucas Stadium on the spin.

Portland United travel to the Brickability Stadium to play Fawley in a FA Vase tie.

Bridport Senior Men have no fixture, but the Bees’ Reserves play Gillingham at St. Mary’s while their development team play Maiden Newton away.

There are only 2 Tribute Ale rugby fixtures this weekend Swanage & Wareham travel to Chippenham and Dorchester visit Wimborne.

On Sunday Weymouth’s Women’s football team have a FA Cup tie at the Memorial Ground against Stoke Gabriel and Torbay Police and Bridport Ladies take the road to Bath to meet their women’s development side.

Weymouth & Portland Rugby Club’s Women’s squad, the “Shehorses” kick off their season and head to Portsmouth to play the Valkyries.
