Man assaulted on Portland – Police appeal for witnesses

Dorset Police received a report at 8.22pm on Thursday 6 November 2025 of a disturbance in the area of the Britannia Inn in Fortuneswell and they are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

It was reported that a man was assaulted during the incident and had sustained a minor facial injury.

Police Constable Chloe Seaward, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to please get in touch.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the vicinity on the evening of Thursday 6 November 2025 and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.

“Finally, we have been carrying out enquiries to locate the victim of the assault but have so far been unsuccessful. If you were involved, please get in touch – we just want to make sure you are OK.”
