Each year a Service of Remembrance is held at the Memorial Gates of the Thomas Hardye School in Dorchester, an occasion attended by the entire school – over 2,000 students plus staff. Also attending are school governors and a contingent of military cadets. The main part of the ceremony involves the reading out of the names of ex-pupils who lost their lives fighting for their country. The Last Post and Reveille are sounded with a period of reflective silence in between. You can hear a recording of the event below (please note, the silence has been shortened for purposes of this recording)
