Bournemouth & District Car Club’s Rally was held at Bovington Camp over the weekend.
Driver Rex Ireland with his Co Driver Adrian Scadding navigated their way around the course on Sunday.
Adrian said, “We were doing well racing against more modern cars and aiming to finish inside the top 20, however the car’s clutch began to fail and we dropped form 17th to 27th overall which is not bad in completive field of 100 starters”.
Football:
Not a good day for our local Non League Football clubs. Dorchester crashed out of the FA Trophy competition beaten away at Dover by 2 goals to nil, the Magpies conceding both goals after the break.
Weymouth took an early first half lead at the Bob Lucas Stadium against visitors Basingstoke courtesy of Callum Watts then shipped 2 goals without reply and although the Terras played some quality football yet again appeared to run out of gas as the game progressed and there was no further scoring.
Our Man at the match said, “Weymouth created enough chances to level the scores and possibly more, but if you can’t find the back of the net you ain’t going to win. The Terras deserved at least to draw the game, but in football you don’t always get what you deserve”.
One Terras’ supporter suggested on the Fan’s Forum that the club need to get in a spiritualist to exorcise a curse from the pitch.
Portland United’s trip to play Bemerton Heath Harlequins was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and Bridport’s game at St. Marys was abandoned following a serious leg injury to an Ilfracombe player with the score at 1 nil to the Devonians.
Dorset Premier League Results:
