If Weymouth Football Club didn’t get bad luck they wouldn’t get any luck at all.
The Terras ran out on to the park at Alwyns Lane to play Chertsey Town minus a registered goalkeeper due to Ben Clark’s late illness and with wing back Calvin Brooks deputising between the sticks, but despite this Weymouth dominated the first half and they thought they had taken the lead, but the match officials ruled that the ball failed to cross the goal line and the teams turned round at half time nil nil.
Boss Steve Claridge said that levels fell in the second half and the Terras conceded 4 goals with no reply.
Our Man at the match said: “Forgetting the score, Weymouth did themselves proud and lets hope that the rumours circulating the club that the Gaffer is signing 3 new players next week come to fruition”.
Dorchester hosted Hungerford Town at the Avenue Stadium and ran out 2 goals to 1 winners.
Charlie Wooding opened the Magpies account with a goal in the first half then the Crusaders drew level to make the score 1 all at the break, but Connor Underhill snatched a late winner for Dorchester to send the Magpies fans home happy.
Both Portland United and Bridport’s matches fell foul of the weather.
