Appeal following report of careless driving between Dorchester and Wimborne

Police officers are appealing for witnesses who saw the manner of driving of a vehicle between Dorchester and Wimborne or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

From 11.45am on Monday 22 December 2025, a number of reports were received about the manner of driving of a black Kia Sportage.

The vehicle travelled along on the A35 Puddletown bypass onto the A31 before being stopped by officers along the Wimborne bypass.

A 68-year-old woman from Hampshire was arrested on suspicion of a driving offence. She has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “There were a number of people out on the roads who may have witnessed the manner of driving of this vehicle.

“I would ask anyone who saw what happened, or may have captured any relevant dashcam footage, to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250187413. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
