Dorchester nail salon

by Trevor Bevins, Local Democracy Reporter.

A former Dorchester butcher shop could be converted into a nail salon – also offering bubble tea.

Dorset Council is being asked to consider a change of use for the previous Dorset Kiwi Butcher premises at 35 Maud Road which has been empty for around five years.
The planning proposal comes from Miss Vivian Tan who has a Poundbury address. Her application includes internal changes to the building to provide a nail salon, a small retail area and space for preparing and serving bubble tea.

Documents with the planning proposal show a non-illuminated sign for the shop front with the name “Pastel Tuesdays”.

The business, if approved, will be located next to a Chinese take-away and on the opposite side of the road to a parade of shops which includes two supermarkets, a hairdresser, gift shop, bakery and a recently refurbished pharmacy.

Public comments on the application, lodged with Dorset Council, as P/FUL/2026/00854 , can be made until March 20th.
