Commemorative Plaque unveiled at County Hall to honour those conscripted under National Service

On Monday 30th March a ceremony was held at the Memorial Area outside County Hall in Dorchester to honour the people of Dorset who were conscripted to serve under National Service. Their contribution and time in the armed forces was marked by the unveiling of a new plaque. The ceremony, organised by Dorset Council and the Royal British Legion, was attended by veterans who still remember National Service, and the 395 men who sadly died and never got to return home. Below is a recording of the ceremony which is introduced by Mr Grant Parrott from the Royal British Legion, Dorset.
