Firefighters at Weymouth fire station are holding a charity car wash this Saturday (18 July) from 10am until 3pm, in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity and Muscular Dystrophy UK.
The event organiser, Firefighter Ryan Smith, said: “We’re raising money for two incredible charities that are deeply important to us. The Fire Fighters Charity provides lifelong support to both serving and retired firefighters, while Muscular Dystrophy UK offers vital support to people living with muscle-wasting conditions, funds groundbreaking research, and campaigns for better understanding, accessibility and access to specialist healthcare.”
He added: “We’d really like to encourage everyone to come along and show their support. Bring your friends, leave with a shiny car, and help raise money for two well-deserving causes. The crew are looking forward to seeing you all there. We’d also like to thank Halfords Weymouth for their kind donation of car cleaning products.”
Weymouth Fire Station can be found on Radipole Lane, Weymouth. To find out more about the charities they are supporting, please see their websites:

To help support and raise additional funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK, Watch Manager Luke Howell will be taking on the Pedal, Paddle, Peak challenge along the Jurassic Coast in September with a team of four. This event will see him cycle 40km around Dorset, kayak 3km around Studland Bay and Old Harry Rocks, and climb 17km of hills along the Purbeck Ridge.
