Motorists Battle The Downpours

Drivers in Dorset have been taking the rough with the smooth today (Friday 18 Oct) as small breaks in the rain brought the sunshine.

Those breaks were few and when the rain did return, it returned in force!

Torrential and persistent rain hit Dorchester hard this afternoon with some drivers reporting significant visibility issues and reduced speeds.

Drivers reported to Keep 106 a number of incidents on the A35. Notably near to Bere Regis where a stretch of this busy road was closed due to a 3 vehicle accident on Poole Hill.

Parts of the A35 are also flooded from Stinsford to the Puddletown bypass.

The forecast for the weekend is predominantly dry with sunny spells and a high of 12c.
