The Environment Agency has issued the following flood warning.
Flooding is expected for: The Sea Life Centre and the Preston Beach Road area of Lodmoor.
Storm Ciara is forecast to begin effecting this area from Saturday evening and throughout Sunday. Sea spray overtopping defences and carrying shingle from the beach is possible along the coast as a result of high tides and the strong winds. Consequently, flooding is possible for 2 hours before and after the two high tide times of 6:45am and 7:45pm, on Sunday 9th February 2020 and 20:45 on Monday 10th February 2020. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for The Sea Life Centre and the Preston Beach Road area of Lodmoor. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services.

Please be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths and roads as large waves could be dangerous. This message will be updated if the situation changes.
